Digital Camera

Sanborn makes use of the most current digital imaging technology, employing both Intergraph's DMC and Vexcel's UltraCamD large format digital aerial cameras.

With an incredible base panchromatic resolution, our digital cameras have four color channels (red, green, blue and near-infrared), and can collect imagery at a depth of 12 bits-per-channel at a rate of more than one frame-per-second. Pixels as small as 2.5 cm can be achieved.

Superior Image Quality and Accuracy
Geometric accuracy exceeds all other digital camera offerings on the market

High frame rate increases redundancy for greater success in automated procedures and stronger aerial triangulation solutions

High quality images are free from noise, lint, scratches or dust, with increased shadow detail and greater stereoscopic clarity

Matching accuracy is two-and-a-half times better than that of scanned film

Digital elevation models have far fewer errors and occlusions than traditional film

Much sharper image at 12 bits-per-pixel versus 8 bits-per-pixel for scanned film

Faster Data Capture
All-digital workflow, both on the ground and in flight, allows faster data capture and processing

Six hours of uninterrupted data collection at more than one frame-per- second means fewer flight missions

In-flight quality control and online exposure control provides immediate feedback

All four multispectral bands available and captured simultaneously, so no extra cost for color-infrared photography

Greater dynamic range (12-bit data) is less sensitive to light conditions, allowing for expanded flight windows and faster data collections

Cost Savings and Rapid Turnaround
Captured imagery is ready-to-use directly from the camera and immediately available for processing in a fully digital production process

High repeat rate increases redundancy at no additional cost, which allows more automated processing

Additional photos support the computations for fully automated block adjustment, DEM generation, building extraction, road following and much more

Digital workflow does not require film, film processing, photo labs or scanning--cost savings that are passed on to you

Images are digitally archived, so you can avoid expensive film storage and get easy access to your
