Business Development Manager - Strong Wildfire Background In this role, you are responsible for executive-level business development into the U.S State and Federal wildfire government sector. You work to identify and quantify potential new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing customers. The business development manager works with customers and internal technical teams to define requirements and scope enhancements to current capabilities. You will research and analyze changing business drivers in assigned markets and develop briefings to assist the executive team in defining and measuring success against current year and longer-term business plans. In addition, you will consult with employees and clients to provide guidance on and help solve complex technical and business problems; provide senior level oversight to program management, and work in conjunction with project managers to ensure project objectives and timelines are being met.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP), GISP certification a plus.
Experience
5+ years of relevant industry experience.
Technical expertise in GIS-related disciplines.
Experience with State and Federal GIS issues as they relate to wildfire.

Certified Photogrammetrist (CP) and
Licensed Surveyor (PLS) In this role, you will act as a technical authority, consulting with employees and clients alike on complex photogrammetric problems. You will bring your surveying and engineering expertise to help oversee Sanborn surveying projects.
The position is responsible for all phases of mapping and other mensuration requirements, which include planning and supervising survey activities for control, specifying photography or other imagery requirements, helping project management staff to manage projects for mapping or other mensuration requirements and interpretation.

Sanborn is in search of a talented Natural Resources GIS Analyst with experience in fire geospatial data. In this role, you will support a Sanborn federal agency client on a new project. Tasks include:
General Work Elements
Maintain equipment, plotters, and consumable supply inventories.
Troubleshoot equipment and plotters in coordination with project manager and information technologists
Work with team of geospatial technologists, coordinators, fire management officers, from multiple state and federal agencies to ensure quality and completeness within specified deadlines
Understanding of networked computer systems, computer processors, and information technology
Create, convert, modify, and validate geospatial data from a variety of formats
Prepare and maintain backup protocols, archiving, and maintenance of digital assets
Awareness and implementation of Federal requirements for protecting sensitive data
Oral and written communication with data managers, project managers, and staff regarding data requirements, completeness, standards, and FGDC compliant metadata.

Develop and/or refine code to support integration tools in coordination with the State Responsibility Areas (SRA) geospatial database

Fire Retardant Avoidance for TES species database and analysis
Acquire and review annual TES species data from all forests

Integrate existing or updated data standards to ensure Fire Retardant Avoidance compliance
Identify areas where standards can be improved upon or augmented to support line of business

Incident Response Data Resources and Support
Acquire and update incident data library geospatial databases in coordination with CAL FIRE
Assure quality control and completeness of data collected and integrated
Knowledge and awareness of file transfer protocols, secure and unsecure locations in line with sensitive data requirements
Ensure thematic aggregations are utilized, metadata available and exported, layer files created and functional, and tracking spreadsheet is updated and accurate
Obtain and update all GISS hard drives for Type I and II teams, update GISS hard drives for other teams and emergency responders as needed

Provide analysis associated with supporting all hazards data requirements.
Fire GIS Geospatial Archive
Inventory all incident data, identify missing incident data, establish tracking system to obtain and complete inventory annually and for past 10 years
Establish protocols to obtain incident data and aggregate into archive
Identify and establish security requirements for sensitive data
Acquire incident data for all incidents over 300 acres within USFS Region 5
Assure quality control and completeness of data collected and integrated
Knowledge and awareness of file transfer protocols, secure and unsecure locations in line with sensitive data requirements
Ensure thematic aggregations are utilized, metadata available and exported, layer files created and functional, and tracking spreadsheet is updated and accurate

Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Strong knowledge of databases development and maintenance and programming in languages such as .Net and Python.
Advanced knowledge ArcGIS 10, FIMT, DNR Garmin, MS Access, SDE, Oracle, Pathfinder Office, and MS Office, SAS, R, MatLab, IDL.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Experience with fire geospatial data, GISS Standard Operating Procedures, Forest Service corporate data, and the business of wildland fire support;
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data (HIFLD), knowledge of incident support, and all hazards incident response is desirable;
Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch, and HAZUS software, and Trimble products/software including ArcGIS Online.
Ability to write reports and communicate effectively on geospatial analysis, data management.
