Aerial Triangulation (AT) / ABGPS Expert

Responsibilities:

Join our growing team! Sanborn is in search of an expert aerial triangulation and ABGPS expert for technical functions for assigned projects.  In this role, you will work closely with senior management and AT Manager in all technical functions associated with ABGPS processing, planning survey control and fully automated aerial triangulation.  As well, you will implement procedures and direct staff within the department.

This position reports directly to the AT Manager of Imaging Services Central.

Duties Include:

  • Performs ABGPS and AT processing on projects ranging in size from 3 to 4,000 exposures.  Evaluates final statistics and RMS residuals to meet project specifications
  • Works with AT Manager to fill production orders, meet schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations
  • Must understand fully automated AT methods including auto point matching, auto DEM extraction, filtering, error detection and isolate survey control blunders
  • Coordinates activities with PMs and other function managers to ensure production and quality of products/services meets specifications
  • Suggest production and operating improvements,  resolves operational, and AT and ABGPS procedural problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Observes standard procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Familiar with stereo compilation procedures
  • Reviews methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing ABGPS and ground survey control
  • Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
  • Draws accurate sketches of newly established survey points for the purposes of aero-triangulation and point recovery.
  • Performs all aspects of data processing including ABGPS static and kinematic processing, geodetic engineering, datum transformations, application of Geoid models, lease squares adjustments, and data export.
  • Manages and performs GPS/IMU post processing and calibration duties

Qualifications:

A minimum of five years relevant experience in AT, ABGPS, Stereo Compilation and in a mapping environment is required.  Must have the ability to work closely with technical and non technical employees, maintaining a high degree of motivation and focus within the department.  Must be detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a changing environment.  Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication leadership and motivational skills with a strong commitment to quality required.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Geography, Natural Sciences or related field.  Certified Photogrammetrist preferred.

GIS Technician

Responsibilities:

Sanborn is in search of a GIS technician with a strong background in ESRI software products including ArcGIS, and Geodatabase to work as part of our Imagery Services Central team. In this role, you will manipulate a geographic information system (GIS) to produce a mapping product using a graphics workstation, trace digitizing, and/or construction digitizing. Qualified candidates will bring a strong understanding of operating systems, organizing digital files and directories.

Duties Include:

  • Prepare and capture data from source documents per client specifications Mathematical construction of raster source data on the computer screen, where applicable. May convert raster data to vector, where applicable
  • Edit graphic information through manipulation of captured data.
  • Build, correct, and verify polygons to enable database attribution and assigns attributes
  • Manually edit and verify proper data capture according to job specifications
  • Process captured data through computer programs to validate and manipulate data through pre-set specifications
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic digitizing and edit skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will bring an Associates degree or higher in GIS, geography, surveying or other natural science, along with a background in GIS and expertise using ArcGIS and Geodatabase. ARC DLL VP programming a plus.
