GIS Analyst III

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work onsite in support of the USDA Forest Service Health Technology Enterprise Team (FHTET), based in Ft. Collins, CO. You will work independently and provide guidance and technical assistance on GIS tasks.

Duties Include:

  • Developing plans for creating applications and other assigned GIS tasks.
  • Responsible for database requirements and details within development tasks,
  • Write and develop procedure documentation, papers and presentation materials.
  • Present project results to groups, small and large.
  • Provide training in the use and application of GIS and forest health issues.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, in which requests have short turn around timeframes.

Requirements:

Education:
A BA/BS in natural resources, natural sciences, landscape architecture or related field.    A Master’s Degree in natural sciences, landscape architecture, GIS or related field is a plus.

Experience: Advanced GIS, raster and vector analysis experience.  Experience with data development, SDE and ArcServer.  Demonstrated ability to solve natural resource related problems and database development with ESRI ARC software products.

Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point.

Ability to pass a background check, including fingerprinting.  Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Information Technology Analyst III w/ESRI Esperience

Responsibilities:
Sanborn pilots operate company provided aircraft to fly mapping missions in support of our aerial photography and data acquisition projects as required. Sanborn operates as FAA, Part 91.

Duties Include:

  • Act as a senior technical advisor with experience in advanced geospatial application development.
  • Perform all phases of IT work including conceptualization of problems to be solved.
  • Identify and evaluate potential solutions.
  • Perform requirements analysis, design, prototyping, benchmarking, programming, documentation, systems quality assurance and control.
  • Communicate plans, techniques and other relevant project info.

Requirements:

Education:
A BA/BS in computer science or similar relevant field

Experience: 4-6 years of experience working as an analyst or programmer on complex computers systems including GOS applications.  Routinely integrates the full suite of ESRI development tools such as Visual Basic, SCE, Geodatabase, ArcGIS Server.

Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point.

Ability to pass a background check, including fingerprinting.  Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Remote Sensing Analyst

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work onsite in support of the USDA Forest Service Health Technology Enterprise Team (FHTET), based in Ft. Collins, CO. You will work to solve complex resource assessment issues and problems.

Duties Include:

  • Perform all phases of image analysis work including conceptualization of problems to be solved, analysis of alternative solutions, geospatial database construction and verification, integration of remotely sensed data, automation of processes, data analysis and preparation of products.
  • Write papers for grey literature or peer-reviewed journals.
  • Develop procedure documentation.
  • Develop presentation materials and present to groups, large and small.
  • Provide training in the use and application of Remote Sensing and GPS for forest health issues.
  • Work with sensors such as multi-spectral scanners, hyperspectral imagers, and other electronic mechanisms for collecting natural resource data.

Requirements:

Education: A BA/BS in natural resources, natural sciences, geography, landscape architecture or related field. 

Experience: 5 years of specialized experience in the application of Remote Sensing, the analysis of natural resource issues and/or the integration of remotely sensed data into GIS.

Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point.

Ability to pass a background check, including fingerprinting.  Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
